There is nothing like a very cold spell to focus your attention on next years holiday, but if you fancy a bit of sun, sea and sand then why wait for the summer to come around. The island of Lanzarote welcomes tourists during all four seasons so why not indulge yourself?

Lanzarote holidays are an attractive choice for families and couples regardless of age because this popular Canary Island offers great weather and wonderful beaches – as well as excellent value for money.

In the current economic climate tourists are really looking for value for money and now that the pounds has recovered some ground against the euro Lanzarote compares very favourably with most other holiday destinations around the world.

Airfares are very reasonable and you’ll be able to find plenty of cheap flights to Lanzarote from most of the international airports. It may also be worth checking the bucket shops as well and if you are booking your accommodation privately your host may also be able to recommend a few good deals too, as this helps them rent out there properties at the end of the day. Accommodation is inexpensive here too and there are thousands of villas and hotels in Lanzarote where you can find well priced beds and accommodation deals (especially last minute ones). And if you´re planning on buying any souvenirs you´ll also be glad to hear that Lanzarote – like the rest of the Canaries – is a duty free zone.

There´s little chance of having your holiday in Lanzarote ruined by the weather, as the sun shines here all year round so if you fancy giving yourself a Xmas present this year or next you could find yourself lapping up the winter sun on the beach here even on Christmas Day.

Lanzarote is a real beach lover’s paradise. There are close to 100 great beaches to explore and nearly all of them boast golden sands rather than the black grains prevalent elsewhere in the Canaries on islands including neighbours such as Tenerife. There are also of course some superb stretches of sands in all of the three main resorts on the island. The best of the island won’t come to you though and you’ll most likely need to arrange car hire in Lanzarote if you want to see the most spectacular stretches of sand though as these are located away from the main resorts – with Famara on the North West coast widely regarded as the most dramatic on the island.

Car hire is also an excellent way of seeing some of the other attractions on the island too which many find far more preferable than being couped up on a coach excursion where you will be unable to stop if you spot an ideal photo opportunity for example.

If sunbathing isn’t really your thing then you´ll be delighted to hear that Lanzarote has a lot more to offer visitors that want to experience anything else the island has to offer. The island is home to the most pristine volcanic scenery on the planet – created by eruptions during the 1730´s so even the kids will enjoying a visit here as many will be able to relate first hand to lessons learned at school. And if that doesn’t rock you then make sure to explore the many creations of César Manrique, the well known local artists who worked with this surreal terrain to create some unique visitor attractions such as the Cactus Garden and the Jameos del Agua.

Book your next holiday and you won’t be disappointed.
