Choosing the right toy for your child is actually very important indeed and it ranges on the child that you have of course but it is very important to try and broaden their mind. It is not a case of I should be buying them many video games or many different forms of model kits but a combination of them both.
Gaming
So many people out there are constantly moaning about how these are bad for kids, I do not agree with this atll. There is nothing wrong with playing video games as long as you are choosing the right ones for them to play. The games out there are of course given the ratings they receive for good reason so know this well. Letting them get on with playing an 18+ game is essentially bad parenting as more often than not there is a lot of violence in these games. If you are stuck on what to do then look around the web, there are so many places out there worth looking into as they will give games reviews for the kids too.
Model Kits
Model kits like train sets and RC helicopter are great for kids, there is no doubt about this at all however the same thing applies, you need to make sure you are getting something suitable for their age range. By doing this you are far more likely to get your child into a hobby that is not video gaming, this is just as fun.
So in the end it is not a question of what should I get my child, the newest video game or these really cool other toys. It is about mixing it up as you do not want your child to just play with one thing.
