Germany is land of unbelievable natural beauty, as well as the product of a tumultuous history, and visiting this country will show you just how different it is from the rest of the world. Berlin, the largest city and capital of Germany, is full of art, history, and culture, in every sort of form and manifestation you can imagine. The streets, as well as numerous museums are full of art, beautiful ornate palaces still stand, and the nightlife is some of the best known in Europe. Of course, you will need a passport in order to travel into Germany. And now, getting a new US passport has become much easier, but more on this later.

The best way to get to know a country and its people is to investigate their history and culture and the best way to do this is by visiting one or more of their museums. There are quite a few to choose from but one cluster is called Museumsinsel which actually means “Museum Island”. This is a grouping of five different museums and each is well known for their beautiful architecture and extensive exhibits. The Jewish museum is another one of Germany’s favorite places to visit although viewing two thousand years of Jewish history can be heart wrenching. The German Film Museum shows this country film history and includes exhibits pertaining to Nazi propaganda. Art lovers will not want to miss the Gemaldegaler which contains a large collection of European masterpieces.

Animal lovers will certainly not want to miss the famous Berlin Zoo which is listed as one of the top European zoos. Next to the zoo is an aquarium which certainly should not be missed. Whether you prefer under water animals or those that walk on land, you will certainly enjoy these two attractions.

Berlin can almost be called the city of churches as there are quite a number of them here. The architecture is historical and beautiful but perhaps one of the most beautiful is Berliner Dom. This is the largest church in the city and a trip to the top of this sanctuary will give you a bird’s eye view of the magnificent city of Berlin.

You can’t go to Germany and not visit the historic Berlin Wall. Only a portion of this wall remains but stands in honor of the many people to died trying to cross it to achieve freedom. Checkpoint Charlie is another interesting and mysterious place to visit.

International travel requires a passport but this process has been greatly simplified by online passport websites. Even if you need a one day pasport renewal, they can handle this for you quickly and securely. Every passport need, whether it’s your very first one or if you are getting a name change, can be easily handled by one of these companies.

There is certainly more to see during a visit to Berlin than we could possibly include here but perhaps you have notices a few items that have sparked your interest in this beautiful city. There are so many parks and museums to visit and we haven’t even mentioned the German cuisine. Remember, you will need a passport so remember that getting a new American passport is easier than you might think and a one day passport renewal can be achieved in a totally secure manner. With a passport, the world can be your playground.
